Thanks to our sponsors and all who came out and supported our Student Chef Competition on November 5th featuring female students from Washburne Culinary Institute. Because of you, we were able to award $10,000 to three female culinary students to put towards their tuition. Congratulations to our winners:

Chef’s Choice $5,000 Winner: Tyra Thomas, for her Salmon Croquettes with Avocado Salsa and Pickled Butternut Squash.

People’s Choice $3,000 Winner: Alsonye Ugbebor, for her Jollof rice with braised beef in a spicy reduced tomato sauce with fried plantains.

Best Use of Seasonal, Sustainable Ingredients $2,000 Winner: Nedrianna Brunt, for her Apple smoked chicken with baby collard green slaw and Johnny cake.

And, special thanks to our James Beard Award-Winning Executive Chef Mentors, Carrie Nahabedian, Sarah Stegner and Mindy Segal for their guideance and guest judging.
