Lakeside Bank Presents FREE Concert in the Park at Clarke House

Lakeside Bank is pleased to present VanderCook College of Music’s Graduate Band at the 4th Annual Concert in the Park on Tuesday, July 13th at the Women’s Park and Gardens behind the Clarke House Museum, 1827 S. Indiana. A family drum circle demonstration will begin at 6:30 PM followed by the concert at 7 PM.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, pick a spot to sit, and listen to the sounds of famous marches, showtunes, movie themes, and concert band classics the whole family can enjoy. The concert is FREE and will benefit VanderCook’s Family Drum Circle Program, a weekly Saturday event where kids can enjoy interactive creative music making with their families using rhythm, song, and dance to build community, foster self-confidence, and have fun. Concert goers can visit Café Society, 1801 S. Indiana, to purchase a special concert picnic dinner that can be brought to the park.

The concert is done in partnership with the Chicago Park District, the Greater South Loop Association, the Near South Planning Board, the Parkways Foundation, and the Prairie District Neighborhood Alliance.

Donations collected at the concert will benefit Parkways Foundation. Parkways Foundation invests in Chicago’s parks to enrich communities through historic preservation, environmental initiatives, capital projects and youth/family programs. Donations up to $1,000 will be matched by Lakeside Bank. For more information, visit www.parkways.org.
